The climatic catastrophe of the autumn of 1969 in Tunisia. The violence of the climatic disturbance which struck Tunisia in the autumn of 1969 confirms the hypothesis that this type of phenomenon, rare though they may be, helps greatly in explaining the « desertification » which has seemingly increased in certain Maugrabin regions which were once exploited. The unchecked process of erosion, which we can see for ourselves in such circumstances, has been made possible by a long period of deterioration of the environment, for which man is to blame.
